The Lake House interior was inspired by the changing seasons and the moving skies as you sit and gaze over the water of the lake on the horizon, which is one of the reasons the owners were drawn to build a home in this prime location. Designed as a family retreat, spanning 1,300 square metres over three levels, this one-of-a-kind residence reveals understated luxury within its walls. The basement floor offers a gym, wine tasting room, sauna and steam room as well as a beautiful Sicilian inspired swimming pool.
On the ground floor the expansive living areas are softened with the use of curved edges, gentle textures and a fresh colour palette inspired by the seasons Spring and Summer. A snug, with views over the Lake, is the only dark space in the home, and features a statement 1920’s Persian rug. On the top floor are the master bedroom, bathroom and terrace, children’s bedrooms and study, that feel light, refreshing and refined whilst also singing with creativity and imagination through the use of quirky Scandinavian design detail, like the original 1950’s Papa Bear chair from Hans Wegner.
